These are my best photos from August, September, October and November

White Balance

White balance is very important in photography, to have good lighting in your photo you need to change your white balance to get the right warmth and brightness in your photo.  there are 5 white balance settings you can use

1.Cloudy- used on a cloudy day to create an even and defused light.
2.Tungsten- good for lighting that gives off more of a yellow light.
3.Fluorescent lighting- good for highly florescent light spaces.
4.Flash setting- used for areas with darker settings.
5.Custom white balance- lets you tell the camera what areas of the photo are supposed to be white.

I took my camera and used all of these settings in the same space.

Rule of Thirds- Having your main focal point in the "power points"

Repetition- Having something repeat within your photo.

Angle- Changing the angle or viewpoint
Fill the Frame -Photos that have a strong focal point and fill the whole picture
Framing- using natural elements

Personal Statment

Im not to interesting in my thought. I am in the Color Guard and Band, the youngest out of 3 girls in my family, my house is packed, there are 8 people living in my house, me, my mom and dad, my 18 year old sister, and my 25 year old sister , her husband and her 2 kids. I am in this class because i enjoy taking photos and capturing important moments. I hope I can learn how to capture a moment instead of just taking photos. I hope to grow as a good, helpful, and intelligent girl through out the next 2 years i have left of high school. After i graduate i'm not going straight to collage, I plan on trying out for the Blue Devils ( they are a professional marching band in DCI) and stay there for at least 2 to 5 years. If i'm not still with the Blue Devils I plan on going to collage to study elementary education.

First Amendment

I feel like media coverage is good but you have to be smart as to how much you are covering and how you go about getting the coverage. In Ferguson I understand why people are upset. Although they did have the right to be there that doesn't mean that they can disregard authorities and what they tell you to do. If they tell you so move or to stop then you need to. They also need to think about who there audience is and if they would be ok with seeing what you are publishing. With the James Foley coverage, the photo they published on the front page was beyond ok. A photo like that should not be out for a small child to see. Journalist have rights but need to think about the people who will see there work and respecting what they are covering.
